Fishing on foot is inexpensive and accessible even to children. It's a great way to discover the fauna and flora of the seaside while taking a walk and enjoying the fruits of your catch. Why not give it a try during your next stay at Camping Les Prés Verts aux 4 Sardines in Concarneau?

What equipment should I use?

Fishing is regulated, including the equipment used. Only certain tools are authorised, including :

  • a claw with a maximum of 3 prongs, to scrape the soil and find clams and cockles
  • the serfouette, with the same restriction
  • clam knife
  • the sea urchin grab
  • the crab hook

You can also use a soup spoon or a fork! Finally, don't forget your boots and your basket to put your harvest in!

Watch out for the regulation size!

It is forbidden to collect shellfish or crustaceans that are too small. To find out what size is allowed, use a ruler from the Fédération Nationale des Pêcheurs Plaisanciers et Sportifs de France. There are also regulations governing the amount of seafood you can catch. You are only allowed to collect 3 kg of clams or cockles, for example. If you are caught with too few or too many, you can be fined.
